Home Guards, Swing, Paw - Three feature film projects have been awarded production funding at the latest session of the Fund’s Film Board.

HOME GUARDS (Kakukkfiók) working title
Directed by Krisztina Goda (Just Sex and Nothing Else, Children of Glory, Chameleon)
Home Guards is a powerful drama about two brothers - Mate and Joci - who live in a small Eastern European town. They are recruited by a charismatic leader to join the Home Guards and take a stand against crime. The boys are happy because for the first time they feel that they belong somewhere but slowly things get out of hand as the Guards become an uncontrollable political force. When Mate refuses to cover up a racist crime, he suddenly becomes an enemy of the Guards and his own brother. (Previously developed at ScriptEast workshop)
Krisztina Goda is a graduate of the British National Film and Television School (film direction) and a graduate of the screenwriting program of the UCLA - Universitiy of California, Los Angeles Film School. She directed several award winning short films, as well as a documentary and television commercials.  Just Sex and Nothing Else was her debut as a feature film director, the romantic comedy was an outstanding success in Hungarian theatres; her 2nd feature, Children of Glory, was the most successful local film in Hungary in 2006.

MANCS (Paw)
Directed by Robert-Adrian Pejo
Mancs, a sweet, humorous tale about a German shepherd dog who travels around the world, rescues humans life, just for love and caress.
Mancs, the orphan puppy, struggles to find a new home. On a long, winding road he manages to find shelter, love and acceptance within a carrying family to become a very special dog of his kind and with training and support of his dog master, Zoli, the world famous rescue dog.
