Hungarian documentaries in Los Angeles

 
The 3rd Hungarian Documentary Film Festival in Los Angeles was organized between 24 May – 3 June by the Consulate General of Hungary in Los Angeles in co-operation with Magyar Filmunió, the International Division of the Hungarian National Film Fund.

Ambassador Balazs Bokor, Consul General of Hungary presented the Ember Judit Award of the 3rd Hungarian Documentary Film Festival to Positive Shock by Lászlo Balassa, while the Best Choice Award went to Lívia Gyarmathy’s Our Stork, and the William Fox Jury prized About Raoul Wallenberg - Man Amidst Inhumanity made by the House of Terror Museum in Buda¬pest.
The festival’s 3rd edition screened altogether 30 films which were selected by Hungarian documentary film experts. Documentaries of important and internationally well-known directors like Miklós Jancsó, Judit Elek, János Gulyás, Gyula Gazdag, András Kisfaludy, Gábor Zsigmond Papp and many more were on show during the event.

Magyar Filmunió, the International Division of the Hungarian National Film Fund had a leading role by providing subtitled screening materials for the 3rd Hungarian Documentary Film Festival in Los Angeles.
