Hungarian Day at Transilvania

The 18th Transilvania International Film Festival in Cluja-Napoca highlights current Hungarian movies and filmmakers, the Hungarian Day will be held on June 5. Screenings, Q&As, roundtables and the traditional, not-to-miss “GulashParty” at the Banffy Palace.

The first and largest international film festival in Romania, Transilvania IFF takes place in Cluja-Napoca from 31st May to 9th June. This edition celebrates the festival’s 18th birthday with hundreds of screenings, premiers, parties and special guest Nicolas Cage.

Six current Hungarian films were selected to be screened at TIFF, all connected to “coming of age”. Karlovy Vary winnerBlossom Valley, Gabor Reisz’ Bad Poems, outstanding docu-feature Easy Lessons, critically acclaimed animated featureRuben Brandt, Collector, György Pálfi’s Stanislaw Lem adaptation His Master’s Voice and teenager drama I Hope You’ll Die Next Time : ) will enrich Transilvania IFF. Most of the titles will be screened in Romania for the first time at TIFF, however Bad Poems will be released in Romanian cinemas at fall.

TIFF audience will have the chance to meet the directors and producers of the Hungarian movies. Gábor Reisz, Dorottya Zurbó, Mihály Schwechtje and György Pálfi, Ruben Brandt, Collector leading 2D animator, Péter Tenkei and music composer Tibor Cári will be in person in Cluj-Napoca.
