First reactions: ‘Ruben Brandt, Collector’ trailer

A few days ago, the first international trailer of Ruben Brandt, Collector was released. The newest Hungarian animated feature got very good reactions from the international press.

Variety has been given exclusive access to the trailer for Milorad Krstić’s animated action-thriller Ruben Brandt, Collector. Take a look to our collection from the first reactions.

 

Jennifer Wolfe from the Animation World Network says that the “new trailer for Ruben Brandt, Collector showcases a stylish blend of art-noir”. Mercedes Milligan, the critic of Animation Magazine, thinks that Milorad Krsitc's film is “proving once again that animation has no restrictions on audience, style or genre”. "This English-language feature from Hungary looks and feels like no other animated feature in the marketplace right now.” - praising Amid Amidi, co-founder of Cartoon Brew. Animation Xpress writes that “the short puts a surreal spin on other heist flicks and proves that animation has no restrictions on the audience base.” Jerry Beck at the Animation Scoop states that "now this is what we are looking for."

Zippy Frames says that Ruben Brandt, Collector is a “highly ambitious and stylistic film”. The Manchaster-based animation studio, 3drstudio wrote on Twitter that Ruben Brandt, Collector is a "stunning" movie. John Schwarz from Bubble Blabber thinks that “Milorad Krstić’s new feature-length film is slated to hit the international festival circuit and to prove it, the first trailer is out now. The film is an action drama that looks like a Picasso which is sort of the premise of the film.” Greg Barry, a young animation student at the School of Visual Arts, New York, wrote on Twitter that Krstic's film is “well animated", has "crazy visuals" and "weird original concept...”
