The European Film Agency Directors (EFAD) on its last meeting in Cannes on 20 May published a common declaration on the planned new European film state aid regulations. The members of EFAD agreed that the draft Cinema Communication proposed by the European Commission if adopted will jeopardize Europe’s position in the global audiovisual market, making the EU a less attractive location for major film productions and it will restrict the opportunites of national and regional film funds on determining their conditions of funding.
