Unlike other film festivals, Toronto After Dark Film Festival rely exclusively on the audience to be the festival jury. And after polling festivalgoers, Toronto After Dark Film Festival has just announced the audience winners. Bergendy’s film brought home 10 awards: Best Film: Bronze Medal, Best Horror Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Fruzsina Hais), Best Special Effects, Best Sound Design, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Most Scary Film and ’Film Most Want To See A Sequel To’.

Post Mortem has so far screened at 28 foreign festivals around the world and has now won a total of 23 awards. The National Film Institute entered Post Mortem as the representative of Hungary in the international film category of the 2022 Academy Awards. After the festivals in Ireland and Spain at the end of October, Post Mortem will be in the international competition of the 19th Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival, which evokes the dark side of cinema on November 5 in Italy.  

Countless ghosts have been stuck in our world as a result of the destruction caused by World War I and the Spanish Flu epidemic. Tomás, the wandering post mortem photographer, gets to a haunted village after meeting a ten-year-old orphan girl, Anna, during the freezing winter of 1918. After experiencing the strange, supernatural phenomena, he decides to investigate the intentions of the ghosts. Anna accompanies Tomás's exploration through all its dangers, while the ghosts rave with fury.
