The Róna Street site

The most iconic venue of the Hungarian film industry, currently at 174 Róna Street, is the former Lumumba Street film studio, also called "Site 1," the Hunnia, or "Film Factory.” In October 1917, Sándor Korda established the first studio base of Hungarian film production at this location under the name Corvin Filmstúdió. We currently have two studios at the site that are suitable for recording smaller film as well as television productions; the newly refurbished Fábri studio with the oldest cinematic tradition on 830 square meters, and the H studio on 385 square meters.

The studio complex in Fót

The studio complex, located on a 23-hectare plot of land and formerly known as MAFILM Fót, has some unique features; there are currently two studios available here and the usable free space is nearly 20,000 square meters.

In addition to the easy-to-shape backlots of a medieval town, a western village, and the American suburbs, it also houses the world-famous outdoor water tank that was used for filming Blade Runner 2049 and Terminator: Dark Fate; the largest outdoor pool on the European continent. Thanks to the spacious space created around it, the water tank can even be included in large and deep sets, which makes it much easier to film water or partially underwater scenes. In addition to countless Hungarian films, world-famous works such as The King, The Witcher and The Last Kingdom have recently been shot in Fót at the NFI Studios.

The NFI Studios of Fót are located on the outskirts of Budapest, a 30-minute drive from Budapest Airport and about twenty minutes from the city center.

During the expansion of the studio complex by the end of 2023, four new film studios will be built, adding a total of 10,000 square meters of usable floor space to the current 2,670 square meters of studio capacity.
