Áron stands in his life as an average 29 years old weirdo. He has many contemporary complexes, a fresh university degree, and an up-to-date broke up.
His parents have to support him financially as he is still a job seeker and while Áron is agonizing on his lost love, he is always interrupted by something; it seems like he’s not the main character in is life.
For Some Inexplicable Reason is an unconventional coming of age story, about the unbearable lightness of being a youngster, with an exact glimpse about the city in which Áron lives in: Budapest.

As many cool guidebook or Hungarian films state: Budapest is a great city, with it’s fantastic panoramas, great restaurants, bistros and trendy ruin pubs with their handsome hipster population. The great paradox in this fact that these places are mostly alienating for an average youngster who lives here. A home where strange men are screaming hysterically on the public transport, where we can talk in a raunchy pub with a brutal ex-classmate who is now a solid alcoholic high school teacher, or where our best pals from elementary school can perform a complete musical feature on the street at 3 am. 
Budapest is the city where the tones and moods (even the climate) are constantly changing; where every corner tells you a story but you can’t rely on something. You simply can’t be cool when the horrendous ticket controllers make you to clean the sour cream from the sidewalk (which you slapped there because you were angry and was brought for your mothers request for the Sunday family lunch). The situation is even more complicated when after a hard-party night you realize that you spent your parents’ monthly salary for a ticket to Lisbon and you do not even remember this act.
This is where Áron stands in his life as an average 29 years old weirdo. He has many contemporary complexes, a fresh university degree, and an up-to-date broke up, and 40 days before he leaves to Lisbon. His parents have to support him financially as he is still a job seeker and while Áron is agonizing on his lost love, he is always interrupted by something; it seems like he’s not the main character in is life.
The film’s intensive documentaristic style is not only created by the easy handheld camera and the informal lighting but working with amateurs for the main roles, who were selected from the crew members, directors, screenwriters, classmates, colleagues and childhood friends of the director.  „For some inexplicable reason” is an unconventional coming of age story, about the unbearable lightness of being a youngster, with an exact map about the city in which Áron lives in. Daydreaming about leaving this all behind is also a typical budapester confusion: everybody wants to leave, but nobody can live without the heartbroken mood that this crazy and loveable city can give. After Áron failed his Lisbon-project, he decides to come home and give a last chance for a better life.
