Forty Years focuses on Ica and Imre, a couple in their mid-sixties. The woman prepares herself to die, however, the man cannot accept it. After a while, he realizes that he's unable to do anything, so he resigns himself to the inevitable. In the time they've got left, he's trying to make her happy, the way he has been doing it for the last forty years, with more or less success.
